Wall piece I did for EctoLava

After hanging the work for the show, owner of Bold Hype Gallery, Eric Althin suggested that I do a quick mural on the main wall. This was done in acrylic and ink in less than a couple hours, and was finished right before the gallery doors opened to the public.

This was an amazing group show that happened earlier this year. Some of the other artists shown included Bob Camp(creator of Ren and Stimpy), Cory Benhatzel, William Heerey, David Hoskins, Jason Limon, Sean Morris, Juan Muniz, Johannah O’Donnell, Sidney Pink, Eric Richardson, Rafael Santiago, Scott Scheidly, and Nathan Spoor.

This is a new painting that I had recently done for a group show at Bold Hype Gallery. It’s stylistically done in a very similar vein as some of the work in the EctoLava series, but the approach was different. Instead of the painting being all oil, I painted with oil on top of an old piece I had done in spray paint and left some of the spray paint showing through.
